Privacy Policy

Ruminate Studio ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Readog reading record app (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and processing it in accordance with applicable laws. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how long we retain it, and what rights you have.

1. Purposes of Processing Personal Information

We process personal information for the following purposes. Information will not be used beyond these purposes; if the purposes change, we will obtain your consent in advance.

  1. Account Management: Social login-based registration and authentication, identity verification, maintaining and managing membership, and preventing fraudulent use.
  2. Service Provision: Saving, retrieving, and managing reading records; providing personalized content; and enabling use of in-app features.
  3. Service Improvement: Analyzing usage statistics, detecting errors and improving quality, and developing new features.

2. Personal Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum personal information necessary to provide the Service.

Email address, display name (nickname), social login identifier (Google ID or Apple ID)

Automatically Collected Information

Device information (OS version, device model), app usage history (feature usage logs, access timestamps), service usage records (reading statistics, error logs)

During your use of the Service, your IP address and connection environment details may be automatically generated and stored.

3. Retention Period

  1. When you request deletion via [Profile → Account Management → Delete Account], your account and all associated data (reading records, notes, booketlists, tags, etc.) are permanently deleted from our database immediately and cannot be recovered.
  2. Where retention is required by applicable law, information is retained for the period specified by that law.

4. Sharing Personal Information with Third Parties

We do not share your personal information with third parties as a general rule. Exceptions include:

  1. When you have given explicit prior consent.
  2. When required by law or when a law enforcement agency requests information through legally prescribed procedures for investigative purposes.

5. Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing

We do not currently outsource personal information processing to any third party. If outsourcing becomes necessary in the future, we will notify you through this Privacy Policy before doing so, including the name of the service provider and the scope of the outsourced work.

You may exercise the following rights at any time:

You may exercise these rights through the settings menu in the app or by contacting our Privacy Officer by email. We will respond and act without undue delay.

How to Delete Your Data via Account Deletion

Go to ProfileAccount ManagementDelete Account in the app to immediately delete your account and all associated data. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

Processing by External Sub-processors

Sign in with Apple Users: Your Sign in with Apple link is revoked automatically or manually depending on your signup vintage. If automatic revocation isn't available, follow the in-app prompt to revoke manually under [iOS Settings → Apple ID → Sign-In & Security].

Legal Retention Exceptions: Payment receipts and similar records may be retained where required by accounting/tax regulations. (No current application — policy will be updated after general launch.)

7. Cookies and Automatic Data Collection

As a mobile application, Readog does not use web cookies. However, we may use analytics tools to collect anonymized usage statistics for the purpose of improving service quality and diagnosing errors. Any information collected through such tools is processed in a form that does not identify individual users.

8. Privacy Officer

We have designated a Privacy Officer responsible for overseeing personal information processing and handling user complaints and remedies related to personal information.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in laws, policies, or security practices. We will notify you via an in-app notice at least 7 days before any changes take effect. For changes that are materially adverse to you, we will provide at least 30 days' notice.
