Terms of Service

Effective Date: April 1, 2026

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern the conditions and procedures for using the Readog service (the "Service") provided by Ruminate Studio (the "Company"), and set forth the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Company and its users.

Article 2 (Definitions)

The following terms are defined as follows for the purposes of these Terms:

  1. Service: The Readog mobile application operated by the Company, including all associated web and API services.
  2. User: Any person who accesses and uses the Service in accordance with these Terms.
  3. Member: A User who has completed registration via social login (Google or Apple) and uses the Service.
  4. Content: All information directly created, registered, or saved by a Member within the Service, including reading records, reading notes, memos, and statistics.
  5. Subscription: The right to access premium features provided by the Company for a specified period in exchange for a recurring fee.

Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of Terms)

  1. These Terms take effect upon publication within the Service or on the app store product page.
  2. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  3. When amending these Terms, the Company will notify Users of the changes and the effective date at least 7 days in advance via in-app notice or email. For changes that are materially unfavorable to Users, at least 30 days' notice will be provided.
  4. If a User does not agree to the amended Terms, the User may stop using the Service and request account deletion. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any amendment will be deemed acceptance of the amended Terms.

Article 4 (Provision of Service)

The Company provides the following services:

Some or all features of the Service may require a paid subscription pursuant to the Company's policies.

Article 5 (Registration and Withdrawal)

  1. Users may register by applying through Google or Apple social login. Membership is granted upon the Company's approval of the application.
  2. Persons under the age of 14 may not register as Members.
  3. Members may request account deletion at any time through the Settings menu within the Service.
  4. Upon account deletion, the Member's Content and personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable laws and the Company's Privacy Policy. Data deleted after account closure cannot be recovered.
  5. If a Member cancels their account while holding an active paid subscription, the subscription cancellation process is governed by the applicable app store (App Store or Google Play) policies, and refunds for unused subscription periods are subject to the relevant store's refund policy.

Article 6 (User Obligations)

Users must not engage in any of the following activities:

Article 7 (Intellectual Property)

  1. All intellectual property rights in the software, design, text, graphics, and other content provided by the Company within the Service are owned by the Company.
  2. Copyright in Content created by a Member within the Service (such as reading notes and memos) belongs to that Member.
  3. By using the Service, Members grant the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit their Content to the extent necessary to provide the Service.
  4. Users may not use the Service or any Content therein for commercial purposes or provide it to third parties without the Company's prior written consent.

Article 8 (Subscriptions and Payments)

  1. In addition to the basic free service, the Company may offer paid subscription plans that unlock additional features.
  2. Paid subscriptions are purchased through the App Store or Google Play, and payment terms are governed by the respective store's policies.
  3. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each subscription period unless cancelled in advance. To avoid automatic renewal, the subscription must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period through the applicable app store settings.
  4. Subscription fees are charged at the beginning of each subscription period.
  5. Refunds for subscriptions are subject to the refund policy of the applicable app store (App Store or Google Play). The Company does not process refunds directly for payments made through stores.
  6. Subscription prices may change in accordance with the Company's policies; Users will be notified in advance of any price changes.

Article 9 (Changes and Suspension of Service)

  1. The Company may change or discontinue all or part of the Service as necessary for operational or technical reasons.
  2. In the event of a change or discontinuation of the Service, the Company will notify Users in advance through in-app announcements or other means.
  3. Temporary service interruptions due to unavoidable circumstances (e.g., server failures, emergency security patches) may be carried out without prior notice.
  4. In the event of permanent termination of a paid subscription service, the Company will separately announce how any remaining subscription periods will be handled.

Article 10 (Disclaimer of Liability)

  1. The Company is not liable for its inability to provide the Service due to force majeure events, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, cyberattacks, or changes in law or regulation.
  2. The Company is not responsible for service interruptions caused by the User's own acts or omissions.
  3. The Company does not warrant the accuracy or reliability of information obtained by Users through the Service, and is not liable for any damages arising therefrom.
  4. The Company is not liable in connection with the use of services provided free of charge, except as required by applicable law.
  5. Users are responsible for any disputes arising from Content they post within the Service, and shall indemnify the Company for any resulting damages.

Article 11 (Dispute Resolution)

  1. In the event of a dispute relating to use of the Service, the Company and the User will endeavor to resolve the matter through mutual consultation.
  2. The laws of the Republic of Korea govern the interpretation of these Terms and any disputes arising from use of the Service.
  3. If a dispute cannot be resolved through consultation, it shall be submitted to the court of competent jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act of the Republic of Korea.
